About Caryn

For more than 30 years, she has consulted with physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, dialysis centers, home care agencies and weight loss clinics. Her experience in the field of food and nutrition spans from pediatrics to geriatrics. She was previously an adjunct professor at Queens Borough Community College for the continuing education nursing curriculum and for Bestcare home care agency where she served as a mentor and role model. She has lectured to the firefighters of Long Island on healthy eating through good nutrition. Caryn is a highly sought out nutritional consultant for major health care corporations and food service companies.

Since 1987 Caryn has been in private practice as the President and owner of Long Island Personalized Instructional Diets (LIPID). To educate health professionals and consumers on diet and nutrition, she produced The "Wise Guys" Wise Up to Food and Medicine that is humorous yet highly informative. Viewers learn how what you eat can affect the medications you’re taking...Lasix, Digoxin and Coumadin. Her video was featured at the N.Y. International film and video festival. Previously, Ms. Nistico was the Producer of a local cable TV program "Here's to Your Health". Her on-air appearances include nutrition potpourri and the Registered Dietitian in the Community for a cable television network. Her successful consulting practice has launched a production company which is produced and directed by women. Caryn is proud of her internet show, "Beat the Disease...Nutritionally". Caryn has also earned a recognition award from the Discovery Health Channel for her participation on their Health Professional Panel. Other activities included promoting Nordic Track and authoring the chapter on the nutrient content of popular foods for the National Gym Association Certification Course. She has written for the Home Health Care Journal on nutrition and diet training for Home Care Aides.

A volunteer for more than a decade at HEARTSHAREs annual celebrity gala, Caryn donates and contributes her time to various organizations. She is active at St. Jude's Children Research Hospital annual events.

Caryn holds a Masters degree in Medical Biology from Long Island University and a Business Degree from Adelphi University. She is a member of:
